GUATEMALA
In Guatemala, PADF protects human rights, strengthens democratic institutions, and promotes labor rights, focusing on vulnerable groups such as human rights defenders, indigenous and Garifuna communities, and migrant populations.
The organization supports civil society groups and justice operators while enhancing early warning and protection systems for individuals at risk. PADF also strengthens labor rights by promoting fair working conditions, combating child labor, and advocating for policies that protect workers, particularly in agricultural and informal sectors.
To combat human trafficking, PADF expands its Volunteer Community Facilitator (VCF) model, training local leaders to educate high-risk groups, hold awareness workshops, and lead public information campaigns in regions with high out-migration rates. PADF trains legal professionals, local authorities, and community leaders to build institutional capacity, uphold human rights, promote labor justice, and reinforce democratic governance.
