Saint Kitts And Nevis
PADF has supported a range of development initiatives in Saint Kitts and Nevis over the decades. One major effort involved the creation of a National Development Foundation (NDF), in 1983, aimed at providing credit and managerial assistance for microenterprises.
These services targeted small-scale enterprises such as tradesmen and craftsmen in fields like plumbing, welding, and woodworking. Additionally, PADF facilitated agroforestry projects, aimed at promoting environmentally sound cultivation practices and increasing income for low-income farmers. This included tree-food intercropping, soil management, and irrigation systems.
PADF also engaged in disaster response efforts, notably delivering medical equipment to Saint Kitts and Nevis following Hurricane Georges in collaboration with the OAS and U.S. government support. More recently, PADF established a regional office in Saint Kitts and Nevis as part of its broader presence in the Caribbean. Currently, PADF is also implementing a STEM education initiative in the country, aiming to ignite youth interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to build a sustainable future.
